Now, the big question: Will Scooter meet an untimely end before he gets a
chance to further implicate his boss, Dark Sith LordDick
Cheney?
Think about it… Just before Whitewater hit the fan during the Clinton years,
Vince Foster miraculously died of a gunshot wound to the head, his body found
in an infrequently visited section of a park along George Washington Highway in
Arlington or Alexandria, VA. The fact that the gun was in the wrong hand, there
was little to no cordite on his shirt, and there was a significant
lack of blood at the site (considering a bullet went through his head)
were all moot points, of course.

Cheney could be in deep kim chee. All the makings for a really nasty conspiracy
are falling into place. All I know is if Scooter ends up being suicided, I hope
someone checks you-know-who’s house.]]>
recent
reports of mind
blowing profits at oil companies constitute proof positive that we’re being
bent over barstools and raped from behind?
The gall of these companies to actually BRAG about ~70% profits based on the
hike in oil prices… Forgive my ignorance, but wasn’t the justification for
increasing the price of oil (and, consequently, the price of gas) meant to
offset LOSSES to the companies that supply all of the above? Weren’t the hands
of these companies tied? “Sorry, we don’t want to raise prices but we’re
hurting bad from the shortages caused by war, hurricanes, blah blah blah?”
Folks, THEY’RE BRAGGING ABOUT THE MONEY THEY’VE MADE OFF OF YOU!
For Heaven’s sake, GET PISSED ALREADY, WILL YOU?

[Update, 2:28pm: As much as I think Bill Frist is a twit, I must say he’s doing
the right thing by calling
a special hearing to evaluate why record earnings are being reported at a
time when gas prices are insane and we’re facing a very, very expensive winter.
Go get ‘em, Bill. Nail them to the wall.]]]>

Way to go… We can’t lump those minorities in with men and women, can we?]]>
With the rising cost of the war and the incredible number of natural disasters
that require relief efforts, I’ve considered creating a Cost of War Calculator.
What it would do is take a dollar amount of something that we can barely afford
and calculate how many days in Iraq would cover the costs. An example would be
the ~27 $billion that insurance companies estimate will be necessary to cover
the natural disasters in Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi but may not be able
to cover; the calculator would estimate how many days we’re paying for in Iraq
that could cover that expense.
I’m still thinking of doing it. In the interim, though, I did find another cost of war calculator, sorta. It gives a
running count of the dollars we’re spending on the War and offers comparisons
to things the US simply can’t afford because of it. Effective, yep, but I think
I could do something better.

You are Jack the Ripper. Yours were some
of the
most brutal murders recorded in history–yet
your case is still to
this day unsolved. You
came from out of the fog, killed violently
and
quickly and disappeared without a trace. Then
for no apparent reason,
you satisfy your blood
lust with ever-increasing ferocity, culminating
in
the near destruction of your final victim,
and then you vanish from the
scene forever. The
perfect ingredients for the perennial thriller.
You are quite the mysteriously demented?
Which Imfamous criminal are you?

I’m not overly thrilled with the idea of leaving CHPC — after all, I hate
change — but I think I’m at a point where I need to focus more on graphic
design and building up my portfolio. The bump in pay will also help. My money
market account is holding little more than crumbs at this point, and I’m not
relishing the idea of selling more stock to help pay for school stuff (that’s
supposed to help me pay off my loans when I’m through, not sustain my
existence).
I am grateful for the two years I’ve spent at CHPC. I learned a ton, and
hopefully I’ve left a mark or two that’ll make them glad to have hired me. I’m
moving a few buildings away so I’m sure we’ll be crossing paths often.
I’m hoping the transition to the new job will be smooth. Everyone that I’ve
chatted with at the UofUAA has been friendly and fun so I’m confident it’ll
work out okay.
And they serve BAGELS at their meetings. That alone is worth the price of the
ticket…

Can you read it? I almost can. What I can’t understand is who in their right

Apple’s quarterly results exceeded expectations everywhere but in the number of
iPods shipped. Even then, as far as I know Apple reached its goals. But because
a few analysts decided Apple needed to ship more than Apple said they’d ship
(and more than ended up shipping) y’all have pummelled the stock. Tuesday after
the numbers were announced the stock plunged 10%. So far today, it’s gone down
another 6%.
Hey, you! IDIOT over there! THEY’RE SUCCESSFUL, THEY’RE MEETING THEIR GOALS,
THEY OWN THE DIGITAL MUSIC REALM, AND YOU’RE PUNISHING THEM
FOR IT????!!!
Seriously, no joke, no kidding around, I completely, undilutedly, certifiably
hate you. Get out of the stock market at your earliest possible convenience and
never, ever purchase stock again.

Ever. You suck way too much to be dinking with capitalism.]]>
Maybe it’s because of all those years working in a technical capacity. I don’t
know. What I do know is complete, unrestricted freedom to do whatever I want
more often than not ends in disappointment. I like having goals, things that I
can hold up as a measurement of success or failure. I don’t like it when
everything is subjective.
Design school is a good example of a subjective environment: if I ask 10 people
for an opinion, I’ll end up with 11 opinions. How is a guy supposed to succeed
in an environment like that?
