Democrats control House AND Senate = BAD SITUATION
I can hear you through the Internet: WTF?? But trust me, I know what I’m talking about. I was paying attention to the Dems back in the early- to mid-1990s. This was understandable because at the time I was a Republican. Of course, back then the Republican party bore little resemblance to today’s Republican party. Back then, Democrats were burning books and Republicans were adamant about saying out of our lives. Ah, those were the days…
In 1994, I joined the rest of the US in soundly booting lots of Democrats out of Congress. It was the least I could do, and I had a lot of fun doing it.
Fast forward to today: Neocons suck, Democrats are the saviors. Whoodathunkit? But don’t get all cocky about this, Democrats. Absolute power corrupts politicians regardless of their party affiliation. It’s what happened when the Dems controlled both houses, and it’s what’s been going on with the neocons since the midterm elections a few years after Dubbya was elected. And now, mark my words, it’s going to happen again with Democrats.
The ultimate scenario is not single party domination; it’s NO party domination. A Congress that’s split to the point where no party has an absolute majority is what we want, not this.
Republicans should have held the Senate, plain and simple. With them out of control, all balance is gone. Dems can do pretty much whatever they want.
And that’s not a good thing.
